"The Waterford Special" is an American reel known in southwestern Pa. in C Major. The parts are played AB.
The tune was given the name by the source for Waterford Township, Pa., "where three out of five plays the fiddle". The second part of "The Waterford Special" appears as the third part of a tune in Elias Howe's Diamond School for the Violin.
It was collected from Harry Queer in Westmoreland County, Pa. in 1957.
It was printed in Bayard's Dance to the Fiddle (1981).
