"Waynesboro", also known as "Waynesborough", "The Green Meadow", "Over the Moor to Maggie"
and "The Willow Tree" is an American reel in cut time and G Major. The parts are played
AB (Silberberg), ABB (Titon) or AABB (Phillips, Songer).
It was in the repertoire of West Virginia fiddler Edden Hammons.
It is similar to "Merriweather" and the two play well together in a medley.
The banjo tab is by John Letscher who says it is a
composite gathered from Matt Brown, Chance McCoy and others.
It was printed in Phillips' Traditional American Fiddle Tunes, vol. 1 (1994),
Lamancusa's The Gettysburg Collection of Old-Time Fiddle Tunes (2021),
Silberberg's Tunes I Learned at Tractor Tavern (2002),
Songer's Portland Collection (1997) and
Titon's Old Time Kentucky Fiddle Tunes (2001).
It was recorded by Bartow Riley on Texas Hoedown (1965),
Doc Roberts on a 78 RPM (1927) and on Fiddlin’ Doc Roberts (c. 1975),
Dave Spilkia on Visits (1981),
Rodney Miller on Airplang (1985),
Mike Seeger on Fresh Oldtime String Band Music (1988)
Alan Jabbour and Ken Perlman on Southern Summits (2005) and
