The parts are played AABB.<br> Samuel Bayard in Dance to the Fiddle (1981) thought this tune was similar to his<br> generically named "Square Dance" (#90, p. 55).<br> Thede provided these lyrics in The Fiddle Book (1967):<br> The yellow cat jumped<br> And he jumped on the wall.<br> The black cat jumped<br> And he couldn't jump a tall.<br> It was printed in Phillips' Traditional American Fiddle Tunes, vol. 1 (1994) and<br> Thede's The Fiddle Book (1967).<br>
