"Biddy the Darling", in Gaelic "Bidí an Muirnín", also known as "Martin Wynne's" or<br> "Rosie Finn's Favourite" in Irish single jig in 12/8 time and D Major.<br> The parts are played AA'BB'.<br> The tune was collected by Samuel Bayard in fife tradition in southwestern<br> Pennsylvania under the title "The Green Cockade". The first strain is also similar to<br> that of Bayard's Pennyslvania-collected<br> "Rolling off a Log"<br> which is in 6/8 instead of 12/8<br> and the English "Sadler's Balloon."<br> It was printed in Breathnach's CRÉ V (1999),<br> Howe's 500 Irish Melodies, Ancient and Modern (1870) and<br> Howe's 1000 Jigs and Reels (1867).<br>
