"Biddy the Darling", in Gaelic "Bidí an Muirnín", also known as "Martin Wynne's" or "Rosie Finn's Favourite" in Irish single jig in 12/8 time and D Major. The parts are played AA'BB'.
The tune was collected by Samuel Bayard in fife tradition in southwestern Pennsylvania under the title "The Green Cockade". The first strain is also similar to that of Bayard's Pennyslvania-collected "Rolling off a Log" which is in 6/8 instead of 12/8 and the English "Sadler's Balloon."
It was printed in Breathnach's CRÉ V (1999), Howe's 500 Irish Melodies, Ancient and Modern (1870) and Howe's 1000 Jigs and Reels (1867).
