"The Fair Maidens", also known as "Rival Hornpipe" or "Turner's Hornpipe" is an<br> Irish hornpipe in G Major. The parts are played AABB.<br> The hornpipe may or may not actually have an Irish provenance.<br> It was printed in Boston music volumes of the 19th century as "Rival<br> Hornpipe" in Ryan's Mammoth Collection (1883) and as "Turner's Hornpipe"<br> in the Boston Collection of Instrumental Music (1850).<br> It was also printed in Krassen's O'Neill's Music of Ireland (1976),<br> O'Neill's Music of Ireland: 1850 Melodies(1903),<br> Dance Music of Ireland: 1001 Gems (1907) and<br> O'Neill's Irish Music (1915).<br>
