"Green Garters" (in Gaelic "Crioscosa Glais"), also known as "Geehan's Reel",<br> "The Grazier", "Trim the Velvet", "The Humours of Flip", "The Potlick" and "Sally<br> Kelly" is an Irish reel in D Major. The parts are played AB (O'Neill/1850 & 1001) or<br> AA'BB' (O'Neill/Krassen).<br> Versions of the tune also appear in the key of G major in several collections,<br> including the Stephen Greir manuscript from County Leitrim. Breathnach (1963) says<br> "The Blacksmith’s Reel", also known as "The Blacksmith’s Daughter", is a version<br> of this tune.<br> It was printed in<br> Banalari's Celtic Encyclopedia (1999),<br> O'Neill (Krassen) (1976),<br> O'Neill's Music of Ireland: 1850 Melodies (1903) and<br> O'Neill's Dance Music of Ireland: 1001 Gems (1907).<br> It was recorded by <br> Brian McNamara on Fort of the Jewels (2004),<br> The Chieftains on The Chieftains and<br> James Keane on That's the Spirit.<br>
