"The Hunt", in Gaelic "An Seilg" or "An Fiadac", also known as "Galtee Hunt", "Mount Phoebus'<br> Hunt" or "The Mountfamous Hunt" is an Irish set dance in cut time and G Major/Mixolydian.<br> The parts are played AB (Stanford/Petrie) or AABB (most versions).<br> The 'B' part, at twelve measures, is longer than the eight-measure 'A' part; not uncommon<br> for set dance tunes.<br> It was printed in Jordan's Whistle & Sing (1975),<br> Mallinson's 100 Enduring (1995),<br> Mitchell's Dance Music of Willie Clancy (1993),<br> O'Neill (Krassen) (1976),<br> O'Neill's Music of Ireland: 1850 Melodies (1903),<br> O'Neill's Dance Music of Ireland: 1001 Gems (1907),<br> Roche's Collection of Traditional Irish Music, vol. 2 (1912) and<br> Stanford/Petrie's Complete Collection (1905).<br> It was recorded by Eugene O'Donnell on Slow Airs and Set Dances (1978).<br>
