"Miller's Maggot" is an Irish single jig in 6/8 time and E minor.<br> The word 'maggot' refers to a unit of liquid measure, a dram,<br> although in archaic use (e.g. Playford) a 'maggot' meant a<br> slight or small tune, a plaything, a whim; from the Italian <br> 'maggioletta', or plaything.<br> This plays well in a medley with:<br> My Darling Asleep<br> Money in Both Pockets<br> all in this section.<br>
