"Drunk At Night and Dry i'da Morning" is also known as "Drunk At Night, Dry In The Morning" or
"Lude's Lament".
This is attributed to Neil Gow. The other tunes by Neil Gow in this collection are:
"Farewell to Whiskey" and "Welcome Whiskey Back Again".
It is a British Isles version (printed variously in 3/4 or 6/8 time, and with parts often
juxtaposed) of what became the American old-time tune "Drunken Hiccups”.
It was printed in Carlin's The Gow Collection Of Scottish Dance Music.
It was recorded by Abby Newton on Crossing To Scotland, Ossian on Dove Across The Water,
Sue Richards And Maggie Sansone on Merrily Greet The Time, Ensemble Galilei on
Music in the Great Hall and others.
