"The Boston Boy" is related to "Rattlesnake Bit the Baby", "Take Me Back to Georgia" and "Ladies in the Ballroom".
It is an old-time Bluegrass breakdown, usually in D Major but sometimes in C.
The tune was a favorite of "Uncle Pen" Vanderver, a fiddler made famous by Bill Monroe's famous song (he was also Monroe's uncle).
The 'A' part of "Boston Boy" is similar the 'C' part of "Texas Gals/Gales".
It is available at the Traditional Tune Archive website http://tunearch.org and at John Lamancusa's fiddle tune website https://www.oldtimefiddletunes.net/.
It was recorded by Mac Benford and the Woodshed All-Stars on Willow (1996).
I learned it from print, first from Bill Abbey (in C) and then from John Lamancusa's The Gettysburg Collection of Old-Time Fiddle Tunes (2021).
