"Dallas Rag" is an old-time country rag from Texas in F Major. <br> The city of Dallas, Texas, was named for an American vice-president, George Dallas,<br> though the name Dallas itself has Celtic origins (the town of Dallas is in Morayshire,<br> Scotland) and means "meadow by the wood". The Dallas Stringband was an African-American<br> group, featuring mandolinist Coley Jones, Sam Harris on guitar and Marco Washington on<br> string bass. The group recorded the side for Columbia in Dallas, Texas, in December, 1927. <br> It was printed in Brody's Fiddler's Fakebook (1983). <br> It was recorded by The New Lost City Ramblers, John McCutcheon and The Dallas Stringband.<br>
