"Fire on the Mountain" is another tune from Henry Reed of Virginia, via Alan Jabbour.<br> Also known as "Betty Martin", "Old Mother Gofour",<br> "Pretty Betty Martin", "Hog Eye", "Sambo", "Ten Little Indians"<br> and "Tip Toe Fine".<br> This is not the same tune as the similarly named "Fire In the Mountain".<br> Notice how the B part is exactly the same as the A part except<br> that it is transposed to D from A and that the ending reverts to A.<br> It has been recorded by The Highwoods String Band, Gid Tanner &<br> the Skillet Lickers, Kyle Creed and Fred Cockerham,<br> Fiddlin' John Carson, Fuzzy Mountain String Band and Bob Carlin<br> among others.<br> I don't remember where I learned this.<br>
