"Hogeye", also known as "Hog-Eyed Man", "Betty Martin", "High Betty Martin", "Pretty Betty Martin", "Brad Walters","Chippy/Gippy/Hippy Get Your Hair Cut", "Fire on the Mountain", "Granny Will Your Dog Bite?", "Old Mother Gofour", "Sally in the Garden" or "Tip Toe Fine" is an old-time breakdown in A Major, A Mixolydian or a combination of both. The parts are played AAB (Brody) or AABB (Kaufman, Phillips). The term 'hog-eye' means perhaps 'wall-eyed' (i.e. eyes that diverge outwards, the opposite of cross-eyed), according to Thede. Other definitions, according to various sources, include a type of barge used in California ports as well as a euphemism for a vagina but the most common use seems to be the "wall - eyed" one.
