"Jake's got a Bellyache", is an American reel in cut time and A Mixolydian. The parts are played ABB. It is played in ADae fiddle tuning. This moderate tempo modal breakdown was in the repertoire of West Virginia fiddler Edden Hammons. A version with a slightly different rhythm and a more pronounced modal character called "Kate's Got the Bellyache" has been collected in southeastern Kentucky from the playing of Estill Bingham. It was printed in Milliner & Koken's Milliner-Koken Collection of American Fiddle Tunes (2011). It was recorded by Edden Hammons on Edden Hammons Collection vol. 2, Disc 1, The Haints on Shout Monah (2009) and Rafe Stefanini on Hell and Scissors (1999).
