"Young Jane" is an English waltz in G Major. The parts are played AB.<br> The tune is a waltz version of "Young Jane and the Gallant Hussar," or "The Gallant Hussar".<br> The A part is very similar to "Tramps and Hawkers" which is also used for the sea song<br> "Paddy West".<br> It was printed in S. Johnson's The Kitchen Musician No. 4: Collection of Fine Tunes (1983),<br> Kennedy's Fiddlers Tune Book, vol. 1 (1951) and<br> Raven's English Country Dance Tunes (1984).<br> It was recorded by F&W String Band on F&W String Band 2 and<br> Fennigs All Stars on Saturday Night in the Provinces. <br>
