Sadie G. Koninsky (August 1879–January 2, 1952) was an American composer, music publisher
and music teacher.
"Eli Green's Cakewalk", which became a popular hit when it appeared in 1898, was also the first cakewalk published by a woman. Some of her work (particularly the marches) was published under her male pseudonym, Jerome Hartman. This version starts in E minor and modulates to G for the B part. The second ending of the B part modulates back to E minor so the third ending is required to end in G. The A part is pretty close to the original sheet music but I can't find the B part anywhere. It's nice but I don't see it in the sheet music. In the early 20th century fiddlers and mandolin players developed post-ragtime "rags" using the syncopated rhythms of the ragtime tradition.
