Paddy on the Pike

"Paddy on the Pike" also known as "Half Past Four" is an American reel in cut time and A Major. It is played in standard or AEae fiddle tuning. The parts are played AA'BCC'.
The source for this notated version is Wilson Douglas (1922-1999) (Clay County, central W.Va.).
This is not the tune same as the Irish derived "Paddy on the Turnpike which was also in his repertoire.
East Kentucky fiddler Ed Haley played the tune as "Half Past Four".
The banjo tablature is by John Letscher. His comment:

From Claire and Walt and Adam Hurt. Odd structure. I'm not sure if this tune preceeded "Half Past Four" and "Jimmy Johnson" or was influenced by them?

It was printed in Phillips' Traditional American Fiddle Tunes, vol. 1 (1994) and Lamancusa's The Gettysburg Collection of Old-Time Fiddle Tunes (2021).
It was recorded by Wilson Douglas on The Right Hand Fork of Rush's Creek (1975), Boatin' Up Sandy (1989) and The Marimac Anthology: Deep in Old-Time Music (1996).
